RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The state with the highest average salaries in the country, São Paulo, leads the 63rd edition of the Catho Salary Survey, a database of jobs and wages prepared for 19 years by the company, which is one of the largest online classifieds of job vacancies in Brazil.

The survey provides information on more than 25 thousand companies in 4,063 Brazilian cities, with data updated every six months. The average national salary today is around R$ 1,667.64 (US$292).

Besides helping companies to manage their salary structure and benefits, Catho also works as a technology marketplace, connecting these companies to people looking for jobs, free of charge, through its application.

The survey showed that the average salary in the state of São Paulo is R$1,926.78. Completing the podium of highest salaries are the states of Rio de Janeiro (R$ 1,756.71) and the Federal District (R$ 1,731.48).

With two states leading the ranking, the Southeast naturally stands out as the region that offers the highest average national salary, with a value of R$1,805.39, followed by the South (R$1,610.93) and Center-West (R$1,511.54).

Conversely, the Northeast, with an average salary of R$1,406.62, has the lowest remuneration in the country, with three states in last place: Rio Grande do Norte (R$1,292.72), Sergipe (R$1,286.20), and Paraíba (R$1,282.66).

To help people who are looking for a job, Catho currently has more than 300 thousand job openings available throughout Brazil. The good news is that the state of São Paulo, indicated by the resume bank as having the highest average salaries, concentrates more than 190 thousand of these vacancies.

The second place, Rio de Janeiro, offers more than 33 thousand, and the Federal District, around 17 thousand vacancies.
