Monthly Inflation in Civil Construction Drops to 0.34 Percent in August

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The National Construction Cost Index – M (INCC-M), calculated by the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), has recorded inflation of 0.34 percent in August of this year, below the July rate, which had been 0.91 percent. The indicator has accumulated 3.09 percent for the calendar year and four percent for the past twelve months.

Inflation in services grew from 0.20 percent to 0.29 percent. The rate for materials and equipment rose from 0.04 percent to 0.22 percent.

The drop in the rate from 0.91 percent in July to 0.34 percent in August was boosted by the labor force, with inflation dropping from 1.63 percent in July to 0.44 percent in August.

On the other hand, the rate for services and materials and equipment was up. Inflation in services grew from 0.20 percent to 0.29 percent. The rate for materials and equipment rose from 0.04 percent to 0.22 percent.
