RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Brazilian trade balance recorded a deficit of US$629.766 million in the fourth week of November. According to data released on Monday, November 25th, by the Foreign Trade Secretariat of the Ministry of Economy, the figure was reached with exports totaling US$2.666 billion and US$3.296 billion in imports.
The accumulated deficit in November is US$1.099 billion. The surplus for the year as a whole is US$33.822 billion.
There was a 38.35 percent drop in the daily average of exports in comparison to November last year, from US$1.047 billion to US$645.433 million.
In the period, there was a drop in shipments abroad in Manufactured Products (-46.12 percent), Semi-manufactured Products (-37.78 percent) and Basic Products (-31.86 percent).
On the other hand, imports dropped 14.76 percent in the daily average in the same comparison. They fell from US$843.113 million to US$718.701 million.
The highest rises in the period were in Aircraft and parts (191.15 percent), Fuels/Lubricants (16.68 percent) and Mechanical equipment (7.53 percent). Meanwhile, the greatest drops were Milk and dairy products (-31.86 percent), Beverages and alcohol (-29.62 percent) and Fertilizers (-22.38 percent).
