Brazil’s Record TV News Doubles Audience on New Schedule Debut

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The ‘Jornal da Record’ (Record News) doubled its audience by opening at  an earlier time, from 7.45 PM to 8.30 PM, on Monday, December 2nd.

The television news recorded 10.4 points of average and a share of 15 percent. This represents an increase of 100 percent of average and 101 percent of share in relation to the last four Mondays when the news show had scored 5.2 points of average and 7.3 percent of share. The peak in the period was 12 points.

Anchored by Adriana Araújo and Celso Freitas and with an exclusive interview with President Jair Bolsonaro, the TV news secured the isolated vice-leadership, four points ahead of its competitor, which also featured news broadcasters on the same time period.

In Rio de Janeiro, the Record News also reached double digits of average with 10.1 points, peak, and 11 points and share of 14 percent – cementing the second absolute place. The third-place got 5 points.

In other words, Record TV news program doubled the audience of the third place. Increase in relation to the last four Mondays was also high: 74 percent on average and 75 percent in share. The audience in this period had been 5.8 points and an eight percent share.
