Brazil’s new vehicle sales up in May; stocks still low – FENABRAVE

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Vehicle registrations in Brazil increased in May in the monthly comparison, surging in relation to last year, when the sector was paralyzed by social isolation measures adopted after the pandemic reached the country.

Sales of new cars, light commercials, trucks, and buses in Brazil rose to 188,660 units in May, 7.7% above the volume registered in April. Year-on-year, the increase reached 203%. In the year to date, registrations total 891,600 vehicles, almost 32% more than last year.
