RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The projection is contained in the National Confederation of Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism’s (CNC) forecast released yesterday, November 19th.
Should this be the case, there would be an increase of 10.5 percent in relation to last year’s sales, which totaled R$3.32 billion.
Black Friday is currently the fifth most important date for the Brazilian retail trade. It only lags behind Christmas, Mother’s Day, Children’s Day and Father’s Day, respectively.
The electronics and household utility segments should be the most sought after by consumers this year. According to CNC, the turnover in this sector should reach R$929.4 million.
Next are hypermarkets and supermarkets (R$899.3 million) and furniture and home appliances (R$845.5 million).
