Brazilian lawyers file two lawsuits against STF Justice Alexandre de Moraes

Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes already has two lawsuits filed by Brazilians in the Senate to expel him from office.

Alexandre de Moraes has been in charge of carrying out the investigations against those responsible for the assault on the Three Powers headquarters, in addition to being the judge in charge of various cases against former President Jair Bolsonaro.

The first of the demands presented in the Senate, which is in charge of approving the Supreme Court judges and with the authority to reverse their mandates, is from January 5 under the signature of six lawyers, while the second was presented on the 9 by Robert Petty, candidate for councilor in 2020.

In both, his work as the person in charge of the case of fake news is questioned, after several media outlets questioned the reliability of the electronic voting system.

Among the excesses that he would have committed would be the blocking of the bank accounts and social networks of those investigated, as well as the order to imprison the indigenous José Acácio Cererê Xavante, known as ‘Cacique Cererê‘, one of the participants in the siege of a Federal Police station in Brasilia at the beginning of the month.
