Brazil Totals 141,406 Deaths from Novel Coronavirus (September 26th)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil totals 141,406 people killed by the novel coronavirus since the start of the pandemic. The lethality rate, according to the Ministry of Health, stands at three percent. In 24 hours since the bulletin released on Friday, 28,378 new positive Covid-19 diagnoses were recorded. As a result, the country totals 4,717,991 people who have already been infected with the virus.

The data were released by the Ministry of Health on Saturday evening, September 26th, in the daily update published by the portfolio. The number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19 stands at 4,050,837.

Between Friday and saturday, the new deaths recorded by the state Health Secretariats totaled 869, keeping the average below the 1,000 daily deaths of recent weeks.

According to the update, 525,748 patients are under follow-up.
