RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – President Jair Bolsonaro once again criticized the social isolation measures and said, during a weekly live broadcast, that he believed that “freedom is more important than life.”
According to Bolsonaro on the novel coronavirus pandemic, “many more people die from fear than from the thing itself.
Bolsonaro stressed that the efficacy of chloroquine in fighting or preventing the disease has no scientific evidence and said the Ministry of Health’s recent decision to release it for the Unified Health System (SUS) is a recommendation.
The President said that what he most wants is for the country to return to normality.
Bolsonaro took part in a live broadcast with notes in hand, standing alongside the Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas.
