RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Online retailer AliExpress has reduced the time it takes to deliver to Brazil products purchased from different manufacturers and distributors abroad to a maximum period of 7 days. The company had recently announced that the delivery deadline would be 15 days.
]According to Aliexpress, the whole process, from placing the order to shipment, can be tracked online by customers.
The innovation is possible due to the company’s logistical experience, which currently operates 5 chartered flights to Brazil every week. A 6th weekly flight is in the process of implementation.
According to the company, thanks to the use of new big data technologies, it is now possible to identify the various purchases a user makes on the AliExpress marketplace from multiple stores, and assemble them all into a single package.
The method enables the integration of thousands of sellers in China and around the world, offering a total of over 200 million different products, the largest variety of items available on a marketplace for Brazilians.
“AliExpress is, since its inception, a company created for international online trade, connecting with our technology and infrastructure manufacturers and consumers around the world, which allows us to further reduce delivery times in Brazil,” says, Yan Di, country manager of AliExpress in Brazil.
Within the country
To ensure user experience, AliExpress also implemented electronic methods of checking packages upon entry into Brazil, expediting their clearance by customs and ensuring express deliveries in Brazil.
Shipping from the international airport to the user’s home is mainly handled by Correios (the Postal Service) which has a maximum of 5 days to deliver the package to the consumer’s home, in regions such as the cities of São Paulo, for instance.
AliExpress is expanding its commitment to execute domestic delivery within a maximum of 5 days to all major metropolitan regions and large cities in the country.
