Shooting at fund raiser party leaves three dead in Brazil

Three people were killed, including the assailant, and two were wounded during a shooting at a party in a club in the city of São Carlos, in the Brazilian state of São Paulo (southeast), police said Sunday.

The incident occurred on Saturday night when a man who had been ejected from the party in a drunken state for misconduct returned with a gun and began shooting at the guests.

Two men died on the spot and two others were wounded and are hospitalized.

The assailant, 36 years old, was shot dead by two police officers guarding the area, informed Commissioner Gilberto Aquino.

He detailed that, after being ejected, the attacker returned to the party by car with a helmet on his head and started shooting.

The party’s purpose was to raise funds for health centers in the state’s interior.
