São Paulo Monorail has a new train collision in the early hours of this Thursday

Line 15-Prata of São Paulo’s Monorail recorded a new collision between trains early Thursday morning, 9.

According to the Metro, when the trains – involved in the previous day’s accident – were separated, they touched again, but without causing damage or victims.

Around 6 am, the situation was normalized.

“This morning, when these same trains were separated, they touched again, but without causing any apparent damage or victims,” said Metro.

On Thursday, Line 15-Silver was paralyzed so that maintenance teams could complete repairs on the track caused by the accident that occurred on Wednesday, 8, between Sapopemba and Jardim Planalto stations in the east zone of São Paulo.

The compositions involved in the crash were taken to the Pátio Oratório.

Before normalization, the Metro activated the Support Plan between Transportation Companies facing Emergency Situations (Paese), and 30 buses attended to passengers from Vila Prudente to Jardim Colonial.

According to the Metro, the service will work with the Line 15-Silver Monorail this morning.

INVESTIGATION

The head-on collision of two trains will be part of an investigation by the Public Ministry of São Paulo, which opened in January, to investigate the repeated accidents on Line 15-Silver of the São Paulo Subway Monorail.

With the inquiry, the Public and Social Assets Prosecution Office intends to evaluate the risk to users of the line and pedestrians who pass under the monorail structure.
