CVM signs agreement that may boost agribusiness on the Brazilian Stock Exchange

The Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) has signed cooperation agreements to develop the capital market focused on agribusiness.

The partnerships may boost the sector in the Brazilian Stock Exchange.

By means of a note, the agency disclosed the measure on Wednesday, the 25th.

The CVM’s agreements involve the Instituto Pensar Agropecuária (IPA) and the Instituto Brasileiro de Direito do Agronegócio (IBDA).

The partnership has the mission of strengthening the mechanisms of access of the sector’s entrepreneurs to the capital market, by promoting studies, research, and events.

“The CVM has pointed out that agribusiness’ place is in the capital market,” said João Pedro Nascimento, president of the agency.

“With these two agreements, we hope to further develop the sector’s chains in investment and allow, through training and knowledge dissemination actions, more investors and entrepreneurs to understand the potential of the industry.”

Bruno Gomes, Superintendent of Securitization Supervision at CVM, commented that there is a growing interest in small and medium-sized rural producers in the capital market.

“These new cooperation agreements will help in the development of increasingly inclusive policies and regulations,” he explained.

The strategy also involves carrying out joint educational actions with rural producers and with agents of the productive chain around the sector.
