At meeting with Díaz-Canel, Lula da Silva promises to help Cuban regime

On meeting with Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Lula da Silva promised to help the regime “solve its problems.”

Besides announcing works in Argentina, Lula’s visit to the neighboring country was marked by the resumption of diplomatic relations with regimes such as Venezuela and Cuba.

“The blockade against Cuba, which has lasted more than 60 years without any need, must end. The Cubans don’t want to copy the Brazilian model or the United States model, they want to make their own. And who has anything to do with that?”, said Lula da Silva.

“Therefore, you have to treat Venezuela and Cuba with great affection, and in whatever we can help them solve their problems, we will,” concluded the Brazilian President, last Tuesday (24).

When visiting Uruguay on Wednesday (25), Lula da Silva said the members of the Forum of São Paulo will “work very seriously to unify the political-ideological thought, in practical things, in Latin America” and defended again a model of “global governance” under the justification of fighting the “climate crisis”.

During the visit, Lula da Silva also promised to carry out works in ports and airports in Uruguay and said he intends to “modernize” Mercosur with trade agreements with China and the European Union.
