Conviasa airline of Venezuela will increase its international operations by 30%

The Venezuelan State Airline Conviasa will increase its international operations by 30% during the year 2023, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, Minister of Transportation of the South American country, reported today.

The official explained in his twitter account that “this year our flag carrier Conviasa will continue to expand its destinations. We plan to increase national operations by 24% and international operations by 30%.”

According to Velásquez Araguayán, the expansion of Conviasa’s operations is part of “the strategic plan for the development of the nation led by President Nicolás Maduro.”

On December 24, the official channel Venezolana de Televisión (VTV) reported that Conviasa’s expansion plan contemplates the incorporation of new aircraft “to operate long-range routes to countries in Europe and Asia.”

Last year Conviasa expanded international connections to nations in the Middle East such as Iran and Qatar and in the Caribbean, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines; as well as Madrid (Spain) and Mexico City.
