Glenn Greenwald accepts debate on Moraes’ acts

On Saturday the 14th, journalist Glenn Greenwald accepted a debate with Rocha Celso de Barros, a columnist for Folha de S.Paulo, to address the decisions of Justice Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF).

Barros’ challenge came after Greenwald published tweets, according to which Brazil is experiencing repression of freedoms, and that Moraes behaves like an “authoritarian”. After the posts, Barros called the journalist a “Bolsonarist”.

“I don’t think the concern for the judiciary is excessive,” Greenwald said. “Or that the lack of due process of law and the politicization of the judiciary are ‘bolsonarist’ values.” Barros insisted on the thesis that Greenwald is a “bolsonarist”.

After exchanging barbs, the journalist suggested January 17 as the date for the debate and asked the Folha columnist, who is also a sociologist, to contact him to define the terms of the conversation. It is known that it will be live.

Ever since he started criticizing the left, Glenn Greenwald has been attacked by “progressives”.

He is responsible for publicizing the alleged scandal known as Vaza Jato. It is the publication of dialogues between members of Lava Jato that would prove the partiality of the operation against Lula da Silva.
