Few global stock exchanges went up in 2022, and the Brazilian one is one of them; see ranking

Despite the turmoil both on the global stage – with the war in Ukraine, the energy crisis and widespread high inflation – and on the domestic front, in the midst of elections, the Ibovespa managed to end 2022 on a high note.

The main stock index in Brazil registered the fourth highest appreciation, among the five that rose last year in local currency, according to a survey by Valor Data with 20 of the main exchanges in the world.

The ranking is led by Bist 100, from Turkey, with an increase of 196.57%, followed by Merval, from Argentina, with +142.02%. In third place comes the IPSA, from Chile, with +22.13%, and, in fourth, the Ibovespa, with +4.69%. The list is completed by the FTSE-100, from England, with a gain of only 0.91%.
