Lula da Silva and Alckmin will be certified by the Brazilian Electoral Court TSE on Monday

President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and vice-president-elect Geraldo Alckmin will be certified in their posts this Monday (Dec. 12) in a ceremony scheduled for 2 pm at the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).

Authorities will attend the event.

The solemn act, which will have a strong security system and more than 100 guests, marks the end of the entire electoral process.

On occasion, the highly controversial president of the TSE, Alexandre de Moraes, is expected to sign the diploma attesting that Lula da Silva and Alckmin have been elected by popular vote.

A couple of days ago, a criminal action was filed against Moraes in which his preventive detention was requested because of alleged flagrant abuse of power, widely acknowledged even to the back rows of Congress.

The situation surrounding Moraes’ power trip has caused so much anger and despair among millions of Brazilians that it is already threatening security and the rule of law in the country.

For the third time, Lula da Silva was declared elected president of Brazil in the second round of voting, with 50.9% of the valid votes (60,345,999) provided by the TSE.

However, surprisingly, the votes have not been doublechecked and audited as truthful as requested by millions of citizens in their Brazilian Spring protest, which is labeled as the largest popular uprising Brazil has ever seen, that began on Oct. 30.
