Brazilian Supreme Court orders suspension of Twitter accounts of two deputies of Bolsonaro’s party

Once again, Brazil’s Supreme Court (STF) has charged sympathizers of the political formation that supported President Jair Bolsonaro in the last election campaign.

This time the court has ordered the suspension of the Twitter accounts of Bia Kicis and Junio Amaral, parliamentarians of the Liberal Party (PL, right).

Deputy Bia Kicis has informed that the order to cancel the participation of both politicians in this social network has come directly from the member of the highest Brazilian court, Alexandre de Moraes, although she has not yet specified what would have been the specific reasons that would have led the magistrate to take such decision.

“There is no democracy when a Supreme Court justice shuts up an elected parliamentarian without a judicial process,” Kicis said on Monday.

Justice Alexandre de Moraes has been characterized as being an open opponent of Bolsonaro, a fact that has generated criticism about the independence of powers in Brazil.

During the electoral campaign, the STF minister ordered to suspend of the use in the media of terms such as “thief”, “corrupt,” or “ex-convict” to refer to the former opponent of the current Brazilian president, leftist Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
