Since the beginning of the fall, which started in March 2021, the percentage of unemployed people in the Brazilian labor market has collapsed by 6.6 percentage points.

The drop in unemployment also reflects the 1% increase in the contingent of employed persons, which reached 99.7 million and renewed the record in the historical series, started in 2012.

For Adriana Beringuy, coordinator of the IBGE study, commemorative dates contribute to the result: “This moment of occupancy growth has been underway since the second half of 2021. With the approach of the last months of the year, a period in which historically there are increase in job creation, the trend is maintained”.
