Justice of Peru requests 36 months of preventive detention against Vladimir Cerrón

The Peruvian politician Vladimir Cerrón is being investigated by the Peruvian justice for alleged crimes of money laundering and criminal organization, in the case of financing the Perú Libre party, political group that Cerrón leads and that led Pedro Castillo to the presidency.

Along these lines, the provincial prosecutor for money laundering, Richard Rojas, filed a request for 36 months of preventive detention against the former governor of the Junín region, after the preliminary investigation was formalized.

The request for preventive detention against Cerrón is part of an investigation led by the Public Ministry and which also includes congressmen Waldemar Cerrón and Guido Bellido, both parliamentarians elected by Perú Libre.

According to the National Prosecutor’s Office, Vladimir Cerrón would have used resources to finance an alleged criminal organization within the Perú Libre party while the political campaign of this group began.

The hypothesis handled by the authorities of the Peruvian Prosecutor’s Office is that the money that was used to finance Perú Libre had an illicit origin, and was used, supposedly, to finance the judicial processes that were opened against Cerrón.

Vladimir Cerrón, Waldemar Cerrón and Guido Bellido are included in the investigation of the Los Dinámicos del Centro case, through which the alleged illegal financing of Perú Libre through illegal charges made by Junín officials is being analyzed.

But unlike Vladimir Cerrón, Waldemar Cerrón and Guido Bellido are included because they have supposedly been some of the beneficiaries of the money used in the last electoral campaign of 2021. Cerrón and Bellido were elected as congressmen last year by the regions of Junín and Cuzco.
