Paraguay remains the largest Latin American supplier of footwear for Brazil

​The Brazilian Association of Footwear Industries (Abicalçados) announced in its latest foreign trade balance that Paraguay raised its footwear exports to the Brazilian market to double digits between January and September, this in the analysis by pairs sent, thus maintaining as the main Latin American supplier of footwear for Brazil.

Specifically, the most recent report of the Brazilian entity confirms that in the first nine months of 2022, 965,905 pairs of Paraguayan-made shoes entered the national territory, a figure 52.8% higher than that registered in the accumulated between January and September of the year. previous year, when only 631,959 pairs entered.

Despite this slowdown, Paraguay continues to be well established in the global top 10 of the largest footwear suppliers for the Brazilian market and is the only Latin American country present in said list (Photo internet reproduction)

In contrast, analysis by value shows another side. According to data from the Brazilian entity, in the first nine of the year, shipments of footwear from Paraguay to Brazil reached an amount of US$930,028 which represents a significant drop of 41.2% compared to the same period in 2021, when the Brazilian industry allocated more than US$1.5 million to purchases of “Made in Paraguay” footwear.

Despite this slowdown, Paraguay continues to be well established in the global top 10 of the largest footwear suppliers for the Brazilian market and is the only Latin American country present in said list.
