Bolsonaro was to receive Supreme Court members at Alvorada palace, but Justices cancel (Update 1)

President Jair Bolsonaro was expected to receive some Supreme Court Justices this Tuesday (Nov. 1) at the Alvorada Palace, according to Power360.

However, the announcement of the meeting irritated the judges. After Poder360 published the information, the cancellation occurred.

The presence of STF President Rosa Weber and Justices Gilmar Mendes, Kassio Nunes Marques, and Luiz Fux at the Alvorada was already confirmed.

Minister Alexandre de Moraes, president of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), was also approached but canceled.

He is on a flight from Brasília to São Paulo.

Bolsonaro planned to explain to ministers how he assessed the election results, which gave victory to his opponent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT, left).

Then Bolsonaro would have maybe made a statement to the nation.

One concern was the transition process and the vendettas against him in 2023.

There are suggestions within the judiciary and among members of the future leftist government that the current president could be arrested quickly after he leaves the Planalto.

This type of comment is common in social network profiles supporting Lula da Silva.

The president will tell the Justices of the Supreme Court that he received 58.2 million votes in the election.

And that those votes were also against Lula da Silva.

“The people who voted for me also voted against a person who was taken out of prison to beat me in the election. Many Brazilians did not agree with that,” Bolsonaro told his interlocutors.

In the conversation with the Justices of the Supreme Council, Bolsonaro will also say that the demonstrations of truck drivers yesterday and today are a kind of example of what can become of the country if there is a virulent movement against Bolsonarism, as proposed by militant Lulistas.

The text has been discussed and formatted since yesterday with some of his closest collaborators, including

Paulo Guedes (Minister of Economy),

Ciro Nogueira (Minister of the Civic House),

Daniella Marques (President of Caixa Econômica Federal),

Fábio Faria (Minister of Communications),

Rogério Marinho (former Minister of Regional Development and now Senator-elect for Rio Grande do Norte) and

General Augusto Heleno (Chief of the Cabinet for Institutional Security).

As he stated on Monday (Oct. 31), Bolsonaro has no intention of challenging the general outcome of the 2022 elections in court.

However, he will only point out what he considers unequal treatment by the Supreme Electoral Court during the campaign.

The president has not spoken publicly since his election defeat on Sunday (Nov. 30).

The conversation with the ministers of the STF should pave the way for everyone to understand the motivations behind his statement, which may be made this Tuesday afternoon.

In the morning, several ministers Bolsonaro had already spoken with members of the Supreme and proposed the meeting in Alvorada.
