According to Helio Fernandes, the businessman was surprised by thieves at his residence around 10 PM and was hit by a fatal shot to the head.
The businessman had been in Guinea-Bissau since 2016, where he was engaged in the trade of cement blocks produced in a factory that he himself managed in a partnership with Hélio Fernandes, a former Guinean student in China.
“My partner practically never left Colonato for Bissau. He was always at the factory or home,” observed the Guinean.
The Judicial Police (PJ), the Bissau fire department, and members of the Chinese embassy in the Guinean capital went to the crime scene moments after the event, explained Hélio Fernandes.
The body of the victim, aged just over 40, was transported by firefighters to Bissau, pending the steps of the PJ and the Chinese embassy, said the same source.
