Navstar Defense to deliver 20 6×6 MaxxPro MRV-P vehicles to Brazil

The Brazilian Army is about to receive 20 units of the specialized rescue vehicle MaxxPro MRV-P manufactured by Navstar Defense, which will be used in support of the IDV Guarani 6×6 armored fleet, as part of a long process started in 2019.

It is the same vehicle recently acquired by the Spanish Army to support its MRPA RG-31 vehicles and equipped with a Stanag-2 level armored cab.

The Brazilian purchase comprises an armored recovery vehicle kit (with Stanag 2 armored cab) and a batch of spare parts for 20 units.

The armored vehicle's specialized multi-task rescue and support/towing equipment mounted on its rear provides off-road maneuverability without sacrificing recovery capability.

Armored recovery vehicle kit, a batch of digital and printed technical manuals, and a batch of support for training operators and maintenance personnel in Brazil.

The reception and distribution of this material should take place in the first half of 2023 through the port of Paranaguá, State of Paraná, under the supervision and responsibility of the Regional Maintenance Park of the 5th Military Region (Pq Rg Mnt 5).

The delivery of these vehicles to the logistic units of the Mechanized Infantry Brigades of the Brazilian Army will provide greater safety, reliability, and agility in the recovery and preparation of damaged or broken down 6×6 armored vehicles, whether in peace or war.

FEATURES

The MaxxPro MRV-P offers power and mobility to traverse extreme off-road and soft terrain, thanks to the DXM independent front suspension, enhanced six-channel Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS), and large super single front and rear tires.

The armored vehicle’s specialized multi-task rescue and support/towing equipment mounted on its rear provides off-road maneuverability without sacrificing recovery capability.

The MRV-P is built to withstand ballistic weapons fire, mine blasts, improvised explosive devices, and other emerging threats. Its V-shaped hull helps deflect blasts away from the crew, and its armor can be customized to meet any mission requirement.

Following the U.S. military standard, the MaxxPro MRV-P uses a series of special accessories (complete recovery kit) and the indispensable Stryker Adapter Kit that makes it capable of recovering all CAT I and CAT II variants of MRAP and Stryker vehicles, i.e., any modern vehicle following the NATO standard, such as the Brazilian Army’s 6×6 Guarani.

Under the hood, the MRV-P is powered by a robust Cummins ISL four-stroke 8.9-liter turbocharged and intercooled Cummins ISL diesel engine that complies with JP-8 standards.
