Brazil: Civil Police helicopter tumbled at Campo de Marte Airport in São Paulo

A Civil Police helicopter, the Pelicano, tumbled on Tuesday morning, September 20, at Campo de Marte Airport, in Santana, in the North Zone of São Paulo City.

According to the Civil Police, the aircraft was parked at the time of the accident. Civil Police officers were leaving for an operation. There were no injuries.

The accident occurred in front of the helicopter hangar around 6 AM. The helicopter is valued at R$4 million (US$768,000).

There is still no information about the causes.

In a statement, the Department of Public Safety (SSP) said that the causes would be investigated by the Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (Cenipa).
