Partnership for electric vehicles in Brazil

Renault, Localiza, Raízen, and Uber are launching an electric vehicle partnership in Brazil this month.

Under the agreement, 200 units of the Renault Kwids E-tech electric version will be made available to customers of Zarp, a unit of Localiza that rents vehicles to app drivers.

The companies estimate that this will reduce fuel costs for drivers by about 80%. The 200 drivers were selected in collaboration with Uber.

According to the companies, drivers registered on the platform can refuel at special prices at Shell gas stations set up by Raízen at Zarp Localiza points.

In addition to Shell gas stations, drivers will also be able to refuel at three Carrefour hypermarket complexes in Brazil.

Drivers can also purchase chargers to install at home under simple conditions.

The first phase of the pilot project will last one year. The vehicles will be available from the third week of September.
