RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Renault has weathered the storm of 2020 and will invest another R$2 billion (US$375 million) in Brazil. The announcement had been made in March but was confirmed this week in Paraná state.
Renault will invest in the new CMF-B platform (the same as the European Renault Clio) to make a new SUV. There will also be a new 1.0 turbo engine, as the current one is imported from Europe.
The CMF-B platform (which is shared globally with Nissan) allows, besides the arrival of new products, eventual electrification of the Renault line in Brazil.
The brand continues with the application of the Renaulution global strategic plan, which foresees the change in the Renault Group’s strategy from volume to value, entering the Renovation phase with the arrival of new products.
“Latin America is of great importance for the Renault Group, and we are investing in offering products in the continent’s countries aligned with our global strategy,” says José Vicente de los Mozos, EVP Industrial Renault Group.
