Balneário Camboriú may have the tallest building in Brazil

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The city hall of Balneário Camboriú in Santa Catarina has submitted the approval to construct a building with 140 floors and about 500 meters high.

If completed today, the Triumph Tower would join the list of the ten tallest buildings in the world and would even be the tallest in Latin America. There will be 135 habitable floors, with 233 apartments, all of them with ocean views directly from Avenida Atlântica, and a triplex on the top floors.

The Brazilian construction would take the place of a Taiwanese commercial building, which is currently in 10th place in the ranking.

The first place in the ranking remains with the Burj Khalifa, in Dubai, UAE, since 2010: a steel and concrete skyscraper of 828 meters, 163 floors, with offices, residential apartments, and hotel rooms. But this building may soon fall to second place with the completion of the Jeddah Tower, a residential building no less than 1 kilometer high that is under construction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
