Brazil: Amazon expands its logistics structure for fast delivery and same-day shipping

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – U.S. giant Amazon announced the expansion of its logistics structure in Brazil for two-day product deliveries and the expansion of same-day shipping to five cities, including Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte.

The announcement comes amid competition among online retailers to speed up deliveries and attract buyers.

In addition to the competition, factors such as high inflation and high interest rates have impacted the business of companies in the sector in the country.

For customers in its Prime benefits program, Amazon said one-day delivery with no shipping cost will now be available in more than 100 cities, while two-day delivery will reach more than 1,000 cities.

The modality is available for purchases of specific items made up to noon on the day of the order.

For customers in its Prime benefits program, Amazon said one-day delivery with no shipping cost will now be available in more than 100 cities, while two-day delivery will reach more than 1,000 cities.

The company said two-day shipping went from 90 to more than 1,000 cities in 2019. Same-day delivery is charged, but Prime customers get a discount.
