Brazil is elected one of the most welcoming countries in the world

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil is the 8th country that best welcomes its tourists around the world. It is the conclusion of the Traveller Review Awards 2022; an award promoted annually by the booking platform Booking.com released this Monday, February 7, that rewards the accommodations and destinations with the best reviews from travelers who use the service.

The result represents a leap compared to the results of 2021, when Brazil was in the 10th position. Between 2021 and 2022, Brazil had a 16% increase in the number of highly-rated accommodation services.

Considered the most hospitable in 2022, Italy tops the list in first place with 162,272 award-winning accommodations. Check out the ranking:

Also, according to the awards, which analyzed 232 million verified reviews, travelers’ preferred lodging mode is the apartment.

Around 561,000 apartments were awarded for their hospitality worldwide, 17,118 of them in Brazil. Hotels ranked second with 172,000 starred properties, then vacation homes with 148,962 awarded, guesthouses (98,466), and bed and breakfasts (or B&Bs, 79,859).

In Brazil, the second place was reached by guesthouses (9,110), followed by holiday homes (7,510) and hotels (5,564). Worldwide, a total of 1,261,273 accommodations, car rental locations, and advance-booking cab providers in 220 countries and territories worldwide received the award.

Staff service, cleanliness, and location are among the most important aspects to travelers and take precedence over facilities or value for money, Booking.com concluded.
