RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The National Institute of Meteorology (INMET) yesterday, January 10, reported that Rio Grande do Sul should experience higher temperatures this week.
According to INMET, in Uruguaiana, on the border with Argentina, the temperature is expected to reach 42ºC on Wednesday and Thursday (12 and 13).
In Alegrete, western Rio Grande do Sul, the forecast is for temperatures to exceed 40ºC. Pelotas, in the south of the state, may register a peak of 39ºC at the end of the week.
Also according to INMET, the capital, Porto Alegre, is expected to register a temperature of 38ºC on Friday, January 14. The same temperature is expected for Santa Maria, a city in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul.
