Brazil: shooters on bicycles murder another cyclist in broad daylight

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – A video recorded in the Brazilian city of Linhares, in the state of Espírito Santo, went viral this week on social networks.

The violent episode occurred last Monday morning and was recorded by surveillance cameras.

As can be seen in the images, the victim is riding a bicycle and is hit on the corner by another cyclist, who shoots him at close range and then continues on his way.

Wounded, the assailant falls off his bicycle and then tries to run in the opposite direction when he is intercepted by a second shooter, also on a bike, who shoots at him again.

Despite the impacts, the wounded man managed to advance about forty meters followed closely by the second attacker, who even managed to dismount from the vehicle to fire more comfortably.

According to the local media Site de Linhares, the victim was shot in the back and lower extremities. He was taken to the General Hospital of Linhares (HGL), where, due to his serious condition, it was decided to transfer him to the Rio Doce Hospital, where he died.

The identity of the deceased, 19 years old, was not disclosed. According to A Gazeta, the unfortunate young man reported that he had just left work and was pedaling in search of lunch when he was attacked.

The police launched a search operation, but no arrests were made, nor is the motive for this version known.
