Brazil’s Bolsonaro issues Provisional Measure to pay Brazil Aid in December

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – President Jair Bolsonaro on Tuesday, December 7, enacted a Provisional Measure (MP) to enable the payment of “Auxílio Brasil” (Brazil Aid) at R$400 (US$71) per month in December.

The Provisional Measure was published in an extra edition of the Federal Gazette.

New aid should be deposited to beneficiaries from next Friday, December 10. (photo internet reproduction)

The text establishes an “extraordinary benefit” aimed at complementing the average amount already paid to families (R$217) and reach the R$400 initially pledged by Bolsonaro.

According to the Ministry of Citizenship, the new amount will be deposited to beneficiaries starting next Friday, December 10.
