RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – After the official trip of the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mines, Omar Paganini, during which he presented the project for the development of green hydrogen in Uruguay to investors from European countries, he explained that they are working to develop export markets and at the same time use green hydrogen locally in freight transport.

Paganini emphasized that it is an energy source capable of replacing the use of petroleum, through alternative fuels that can be used in sectors such as navigation and air transport. He added that starting in 2022, a pilot project ” will be implemented for cargo trucks.

The iofficial differentiated this project from that of the Gas Sayago regasification plant, indicating that the Uruguayan government “does not assume the commercial responsibility” since it will be the private sector that assumes the investment.
