Latin America’s top 10 universities

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazilian universities were particularly relevant, as 6 of them were ranked among the top 10. The University of Buenos Aires (UBA) came in 6th place, followed by the Autonomous University of Mexico.

The U.S. News College issue is an annual ranking of colleges and universities in the United States and other world regions. In the case of U.S. colleges and universities, it has been published since 1983 – Princeton University in New Jersey has been ranked first for the past 6 years.

On its website, the institution specified that “these universities have been ranked numerically according to their positions in the general rankings of the world’s best universities. Each institution was assessed based on its research performance and its ratings by members of the academic community worldwide and in the region.”

The following are the best global universities in Latin America:

1-University of São Paulo, Brazil:

The educational institution in the capital of the state of São Paulo, ranked 1st among Latin America’s best universities, is listed 115th among the best global universities. It currently has 82,323 students.

2- Campinas State University, Brazil:

The institution is located in the city with the same name, also in the State of São Paulo. It was ranked 275th among the world’s best universities. It has 29,466 students.

3- Pontifical Catholic University of Chile:

In addition to being ranked 3rd among the best in the continent, it was placed 308th in the world university ranking. It has 29,756 students.

4- Federal University of Rio de Janeiro:

The Brazilian university was ranked 4th place. It is ranked 376th among the world’s best universities. It has 53,221 students.

5-University of Chile, Santiago de Chile:

The Chilean state university was also highlighted by U.S. News College, which also ranked it 392nd among the world’s top universities. It has 37,264 enrolled students.

6- University of Buenos Aires, Argentina:

It is the only Argentine university ranked among Latin America’s top 10. It is ranked 402nd in the global ranking. It has 308,748 students.

7- National Autonomous University of Mexico

The institution in the Mexican capital is the 7th best of its kind in Latin America for next year and 408th globally. It currently has 167,254 students.

8- Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil:

The university in the city of Porto Alegre, in addition to being ranked in the top 10 on the continent, is ranked 425th in the world list.

9- Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil:

This university is located in the city of Belo Belo Horizonte, in the state of Minas Gerais. It ranked 9th in Latin America and 456th in the world ranking. It has 39,070 students.

10- Paulista State University

This public university is also located in the city of São Paulo. It ranked 471st globally. It has 46,634 students.
