Emirates CEO confirms the return of the giant A380 to routes to Brazil

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – In a meeting with Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum, CEO of Emirates Airlines, the governor of São Paulo, João Doria (PSDB), had the confirmation of the resumption of flights between São Paulo and Dubai with the Airbus A380, starting next Sunday, October 31.

In addition to the São Paulo/Dubai route, Sheik said that Emirates has plans to resume flights to Rio de Janeiro and expand the route to Santiago de Chile.

The goal, according to the CEO, is that Dubai airport returns to the level of 90 million passengers per year, as it was before the pandemic, and becomes the largest hub in the world, surpassing Atlanta (USA) and Heathrow (England).

The A380, one of the largest planes in the world, has a capacity of 354 passengers.

“The connection with Chile is because the country is controlling the pandemic,” explained the secretary of International Relations of the state government, Julio Serson, who is part of the Invest SP delegation to Dubai.

Doria was with the Sheik at Expo Dubai, where São Paulo week is being held. The governor of São Paulo is in Dubai with an entourage of 40 businessmen, in a trip coordinated by Invest SP.
