RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – According to the airline’s announcement to local media, it will connect Uruguay with Chile from January 2022 with 3 weekly flights.
JetSmart has several aircraft in its fleet: 15 of them in Chile and 5 in Argentina, where it seeks to expand its routes and frequencies, particularly for domestic flights.
“We are announcing a new route, Santiago, Chile and Montevideo,” said the company’s commercial manager Dario Ratinoff.
There will be 3 weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, at a price of US$20 per leg plus taxes. “We sell per leg,” which allows the passenger more “flexibility” and “to set the fare” according to needs, Ratinoff emphasized.
IN ARGENTINA
Less than a month ago, the low-cost airline expanded its operations in Argentina by adding a new aircraft, bringing the total number in the country to 5.
The low-cost airline’s outlook for the summer is optimistic. To encourage domestic travel demand, Flybondi and JetSmart are now participating in the PreViaje program, which reimburses 50% of tourist expenses in domestic destinations.
According to ANAC, in the first 6 months this year, JetSmart ranked second in domestic market share in Argentina, based on the number of passengers transported, accounting for 12%, while Flybondi ranked third, with 11%. Aerolíneas ranked first with 76%.
