RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Japan and Singapore passports are the world’s most powerful in 2021, according to Henley & Partners annual survey. The ranking considers the number of destinations that passport holders from a given country may access with no visa requirement.
The Japanese passport has topped the global ranking since 2019, while Singapore’s slipped to second place in 2020. Now, both allow visiting 192 countries visa-free.
The Brazilian passport, which allows entry to 170 countries without prior visa, fell to 20th place – it was 18th in 2020. According to the consultancy’s records begun in 2006, Brazil’s best position was 16th in 2016.
The Argentine passport is tied with Brazil. The least accepted is Afghanistan’s passport.
