RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – These are common conditions, as spring is the season of transition from the driest of the year, winter, to the most humid and rainy summer season. With spring, the trend is for rain to gradually return to Brazil.
THUNDERSTORMS AND A MUGGY SENSATION
On Monday, October 4, the South and Southeast regions of Brazil will be affected by a storm front, and states such as Paraná, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais will start the week with storm alerts.
In the Midwest there will be rainstorms in virtually all areas, also with conditions for thunderstorms in the south of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and Southern Goiás. In the North of Brazil, volumes will be very significant between the states of Acre, Rondônia, Amazonas and Roraima, and there is also a chance of thunderstorms in these areas.
In the Southeast, Midwest and North – and even in areas of the South during the week – the muggy sensation will persist, because, although the weather will be more overcast, with many clouds and rain, temperatures and air humidity will remain high.
It is precisely due to the combination of heat and humidity in the atmosphere, and a cold front acting in the Southeast and channeling the moisture coming from the Amazon, that the coming days will be marked by rain in these regions.
THROUGHOUT THE WEEK
On Tuesday, October 5, rain will subside in the states of Pará, Tocantins and also in northern Goiás. But on Wednesday, October 6, thunderstorms and wind gusts will start again in these areas. Thursday and Friday, October 7 and 8, will close the week under the same conditions.
On Friday, rainfall will be more significant between western Rio Grande do Sul and southern Mato Grosso do Sul, the weather will be overcast in these areas with few sunny spells.
