For a lighter audience, the Brazilian movie “Desjuntados,” on Amazon Prime Video, tells the amusing story of a recently divorced couple who are forced to continue living together to pay off their divorce debts. For kids, “LEGO Star Wars: Terrifying Tales” is an animated film joining the Disney+ catalog with 3 horror stories set in the Lego and Star Wars universe.

THE TOP 5 MOVIES AND SERIES FOR MARATHONS THIS WEEKEND

This time, “Britney Vs Spears,” “Maid,” and “The Guilty,” on Netflix; “Desjustados,” on Amazon Prime Video; and “Lego Star Wars: Terrifying Tales,” on Disney+, join the list.

Britney Vs Spears (Netflix Documentary)

Everyone knows Britney Spears. More than a singer, she is a true icon. But in recent years her name has become synonymous with a term few people knew about: conservatorship. Britney vs Spears tells the explosive story of Britney and her public and private struggle for freedom.

With several years of investigative work, exclusive interviews and new documents, this Netflix documentary traces the pop star’s full trajectory from ordinary girl to a woman entrapped by fame, family and justice, showing Britney’s life without using the traumatic images that have marked her career.

Director Erin Lee Carr (How To Fix a Drug Scandal, Dirty Money) and journalist Jenny Eliscu take an in-depth look at the complex conservatorship process, ongoing for over 13 years. The film reconstructs the timeline of the case, with everyone involved, secret meetings, and Britney’s struggle to regain her own independence, featuring interviews and text and voice messages that prove what she has long been saying: what we know of this story is only the beginning.

Maid (Netflix Series)

Inspired by Stephanie Land’s impactful autobiographical bestseller “Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive,” “Maid” tells the story of Alex, a woman who works as a maid to (barely) make ends meet, all the while battling poverty, homelessness, and bureaucracy to try to give her daughter, Maddy, a better life. Told from the perspective of this desperate and determined single mother, the series is a realistic and inspiring story about resilience.

The Guilty (Netflix Movie)

One morning at the 911 emergency service switchboard, attendant Joe Baylor (Gyllenhaal) tries to save a person in distress over the phone, but he soon discovers that nothing is what it seems. Now, the only way out is to face the truth.

Desjuntados (Amazon Prime Video Movie)

In “Desjuntados,” Camila (Letícia Lima) and Caco (Gabriel Godoy) can no longer stand each other and see their marriage come to an end, but during the separation process, they are forced to continue sharing the same roof because of a debt with the building’s condominium. Separated, the pair begins to experience unprecedented relationship dynamics.

LEGO Star Wars: Terrifying Tales (Disney+ Movie)

“LEGO Star Wars: Terrifying Tales” is a great option to watch with the kids. The movie will feature an adventure of Poe Dameron and BB-8 through Darth Vader’s sinister castle on Mustafar. Once there, the duo will discover frightening stories and a terrible plan from the Dark Side.
