Brazil’s Alba Saúde and Pastore Medical Center announce merger

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Dot Saúde is the result of the merger between the two competitors in the city of Rio de Janeiro, which will now become Brazil’s third largest health care chain.

“The popular clinics market has greatly grown in the past 10 years with the emergence of large regional players. In Rio, Pastore and Alba stood out in the sector, but curiously without overlapping,” explains Alba Saúde’s founding partner Paulo Granato.

Merging their operations in Brazil implies unifying both companies’ market expertise, with the mark of 2 million people attended. Consequently, Dot Saúde now has 19 units around Rio de Janeiro (Capital and Greater Rio).

According to the executive, the goal is to launch 60 new units by 2023 using the cost and marketing synergy to boost the benefits card developed by the companies.

“Alba Saúde was a competitor we always respected and learned much from. With the merger we have the opportunity to multiply each network’s best practices, strengthen our presence in the whole state of Rio de Janeiro, and begin the national expansion process. We now have more efficient processes, a stronger brand, better engaged clinical staff, and an even better service to our patients,” says Pastore Medical Center’s founding partner Guilherme Aranha.
