Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro resumes vaccinations after 2-day halt

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Rio de Janeiro city hall on Friday, 13, released the vaccination schedule against Covid-19 for the coming week in the capital of Rio de Janeiro.

On Monday, August 16, Rio residents age 22 will be vaccinated with the first dose, on Tuesday (17), people age 21, and so on until Friday (20), when residents age 18 will be administered the first dose.

First dose administration was suspended on Wednesday and Thursday, August 11 and 12 to be resumed on Friday for residents age 24 and on Saturday (14) for people age 23.

Mayor Eduardo Paes (PSD) released the calendar on social networks, thanking Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga for delivering the doses.

“Check out our new calendar for next week. Remember that tomorrow is the 23 year old group. Thank you Minister @mqueiroga2 for delivering the doses today. We look forward to more over the weekend.”
