Brazil records lowest number of Covid deaths and infections in six months (July 25)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil on Sunday reported 18,129 new cases and 476 deaths due to Covid-19, bringing the total number of fatalities from the disease in the country to 549,924, the Health Ministry said.

According to official data, the number of fatalities recorded today is the lowest since January 18, when 452 deaths from the virus were reported, while the number of covid-19 cases reported today is only slightly higher than the 17,340 cases reported on January 3.

According to Statista, the leading German company specializing in market and consumer data, Brazil ranks fifth in Latin America for deaths per million in the last seven days. It is better positioned than Ecuador, Colombia, Paraguay, and Argentina.

In terms of total deaths per million, Brazil ranks among the ten most affected nations, such as Peru, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Colombia, Argentina, Italy, Belgium, and other European countries.

The country has seen a reduction in pandemic numbers in recent weeks.
