Brazilian airlines experience third consecutive month of recovery

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – National airlines recorded growth in the domestic flight network for the third consecutive month in July, the Brazilian Association of Airlines (Abear) said Wednesday.

The Brazilian economy is in robust shape with an explosion of business startups, booming agribusiness, and an impressive wave of new digital unicorns that are about to change the face of Brazil and soon all of Latin America through their expansion.

South America in general and Brazil, in particular, is one of the most significant emerging markets in the aviation industry.
South America in general and Brazil, in particular, is one of the most significant emerging markets in the aviation industry.

According to the association’s survey with data from the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac), the month to date registered a daily average of 1,624 departures, equivalent to 67.7% of the number of flights in early March 2020, before the severe impact of the pandemic on the sector.

The increase from the 1,230 daily departures in June is 16.4 percentage points.

BRAZIL IS ONE OF MOST SIGNIFICANT EMERGING MARKETS IN AVIATION INDUSTRY

South America in general and Brazil, in particular, is one of the most significant emerging markets in the aviation industry. Brazil has a population of 210 million and before the pandemic about 120 million annual flights. That is a relatively low ratio.

The ratio in Europe is up to ten times higher. So flying has great development potential in Brazil. The country is huge and there are few trains. If people’s purchasing power improves, they’ll certainly fly more.

More suppliers are likely to continue to flock to the market.
