Brazil’s Havan retail chain to open 10 more mega-stores in 2021

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Havan (HVAN3), in line for its IPO (initial public offering), intends to open 10 more mega-stores by the end of this year, thereby surpassing the mark of 170 branches spread across Brazil.

The new stores should be opened in the states of Alagoas, Maranhão, Paraíba, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and São Paulo.

According to Havan, the new mega-stores will generate up to 2,000 direct and thousands of indirect jobs. In addition to workers hired for the construction of units, each branch generates some 200 new jobs for positions such as cashier, store leader, store inspectors, stock checker, salespeople, sales assistant, janitors, among others.

Havan opened 8 new stores this year. By 2022, the company wants to reach the mark of 200 mega-stores, taking its chain to all Brazilian states.

“It is a logical growth for our business. We take Havan to where the public asks for it. We have about 70 plots of land mapped out to build future stores. Every day we see new location opportunities for Havan,” the company’s owner Luciano Hang said.
