Brazil boasts 4 of the 5 most punctual mid-size airports in the world

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil is home to 4 of the world’s most punctual airports in the medium-sized category, according to Cirium’s monthly report, a company specialized in aviation industry data, released by Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).

The air terminals of Confins (MG), Congonhas (SP), Salvador (BA) and Brasília (DF) are ranked in the top four positions, respectively, with on-time arrival and departure rates above 96%.

For Minister of Tourism Gilson Machado Neto the positive numbers are the result of the country’s commitment to regulate the airline sector.

“We have been constantly working on regulation, attracting investments and structural improvements so that Brazilian airports are increasingly prepared to meet the future demand, notably in the post-Covid-19 scenario. Coupled with the adoption of biosecurity protocols, we will guarantee greater comfort and safety to our passengers.”

The ranking, which is one of the oldest in the market, is conducted monthly and evaluates the performance of airports worldwide in terms of punctuality.

The goal is to provide airport terminals, airlines, and passengers with data and information on which locations are meeting the expected time for flights between domestic and international destinations.
