São Paulo Health Secretary announces delivery of intubation kits for nearly 10,000 beds

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – São Paulo Health Secretary Jean Gorinchteyn on Wednesday, June 16, announced the delivery of intubation kit drugs for almost 10,000 beds by the end of June, purchased in an international procurement.

The kits will be enough for 60 hospitalization days and another delivery is expected to arrive in July.

According to the Secretary, due to an administrative request from the Ministry of Health, municipalities were prevented from directly purchasing the drugs. However, the state administration provided the supplies to the cities.

“No municipality was left unassisted because the state assumed this task,” he said in a press conference at the Bandeirantes Palace.

Gorinchteyn recalled that intubation kits became a concern when the state saw demand for prolonged hospitalizations increase during the months of March and April 2021.
