The basic subscription plan (which offers access to the content catalog only on smartphones and tablets) will cost R$19.97 per month. This is a little cheaper than the R$21.90 charged by Netflix for the single-screen plan – be it smartphone or desktop.

The second plan, which allows access on television sets, will cost R$28 per month, according to HBO.

The streaming service will also offer all Warner Bros. movies, such as the DC Comics heroes saga and Harry Potter series

Prepaid subscriptions for 3 or 12 months will also be available with discounts of up to 30%, the company said.

Previous HBO GO subscribers will be provided with “instructions prior to launch on how to access HBO Max.” Upon the launch of the new streaming service, the current HBO GO service will be discontinued in Latin America and the Caribbean.

“Our launch in Latin America and the Caribbean is the first step in our global rollout of HBO Max. We are excited that fans across the region will soon be able to enjoy the HBO Max platform and its incredible catalog.”

“WarnerMedia is one of the most popular and trusted entertainment sources across Latin America, and we are very excited that our global journey begins here,” commented in a press release Johannes Larcher, head of HBO Max International.
