Another 629,000 Pfizer doses reach Brazil on Wednesday

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Ministry of Health’s executive secretary, Rodrigo Cruz, said that another 629,000 Pfizer vaccine doses will reach Brazil on Wednesday, May 5th.

The quantity is the first weekly delivery of the month of May. Rodrigo Cruz had previously informed that the laboratory would deliver 2.5 million doses this month, divided into 4 shipments of up to 650,000 doses.

The vaccines come from the United States and will be delivered at the Viracopos Airport, in Campinas (SP). According to the secretary, weekly deliveries in May will occur every Wednesday.

The 2.5 million vaccines are part of the 15 million Pfizer doses that the country will receive until the end of June. The quantity is part of the 100 million unit contract signed between the federal government and the laboratory in March. The remaining vaccines are expected to arrive only in the second semester.
